Food Review: Santini @ Jaya One

Santini is an Italian (or fusion) restaurant located in Jaya One, PJ - just right opposite my workplace. We were given a nice "red" room at the back of their restaurant, some where near the balcony.

A, newly wedded P, and LS.

Menu...

PIC_0121

Menu not, as we have only two choice for set lunch. Each set lunch priced at RM14.90++, mine, pasta which looks like some gwai-lou meehoon.

PIC_0117

A's gwai-lou meehoon seems to be in larger portion as compared to mine.

PIC_0120

Ice lemon tea, together with the set.

Not to discredit them, they did serve us well with the extra cheese we requested :)

PIC_0119

Pua's chicken something, can't remember :)

It's a cosy place to hang out, but I guess it's just not my type. I suppose ordering some ala-carte food might be more interesting than our set meal :)

PS: On a side note, though today is our nation's independence day, I just can't feel the right atmosphere. Do you feel the same too? It's so... nothing.

Some time back, CY meet me up after I attended a talk by Tunku Abdul Aziz in UTAR, and we walked over to Jaya One for lunch. As some of you would know, opposite my workplace is now occupied with many new food outlet, and one of them is Korea BBQ Chicken - so-called Korea's No. 1 chicken restaurant.

As we are early, we seems to be the first customer they serve, and it took us some time before the meal is served. Anyway, the food speaks louder than the crowd. It's real tasty, though, it does come with a price.

The shop claims they uses olive oil in preparing their meals. Interesting for those who are health conscience :)

Let the photo do the talking...

Factoring the cost and the portion of the meal, I still wouldn't mind visiting this place once a blue moon... as their food is really tasty. The chef did marinate their chicken meat very well :)

Ayam-Kambing-Bag

Finally able to adjust myself and now am blogging. For some you of might know, I've accepted an administrative position in my workplace and it really take much time and strength to adapt in new working environment. Trust me, same place but yet, different feeling.

Finally too, I've attended my interview to upgrade my current position as Lecturer - after a long wait for 2 years. I thank God everything has come to an end.

Funnily, ever since my third year in my bachelor degree I've been waiting and waiting for many things to be done. I guess this is the training God has given to me, though it's real difficult to face/handle. This reminds me of this passage from the bible,

Vanity of vanities, says the Preacher,
vanity of vanities! All is vanity.
What does man gain by all the toil
at which he toils under the sun?

A generation goes, and a generation comes,
but the earth remains forever.
The sun rises, and the sun goes down,
and hastens to the place where it rises.

The wind blows to the south
and goes around to the north;
around and around goes the wind,
and on its circuits the wind returns.

All streams run to the sea,
but the sea is not full;
to the place where the streams flow,
there they flow again.

All things are full of weariness;
a man cannot utter it;
the eye is not satisfied with seeing,
nor the ear filled with hearing.

What has been is what will be,
and what has been done is what will be done,
and there is nothing new under the sun.

Is there a thing of which it is said,
"See, this is new"?
It has been already
in the ages before us.

There is no remembrance of former things,
nor will there be any remembrance
of later things yet to be
among those who come after.

Factually speaking, my one-month but seems never-ending final year project (remember? I lost my notebook and all my work for my project), one year plus wait for my beloved's confirmation, two years of waiting for my master thesis/viva to put the last dot, two years of waiting to get a better figure in my monthly slip, and two long years in waiting to complete my commitment to God as a bacon (that's how Joanne put it).

Frankly, I'm glad everything has its own time. Just like how King Solomon describe time. For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:

a time to be born, and a time to die;
a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;
a time to kill, and a time to heal;
a time to break down, and a time to build up;
a time to weep, and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together;
a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
a time to seek, and a time to lose;
a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
a time to tear, and a time to sew;
a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
a time to love, and a time to hate;
a time for war, and a time for peace.

I thank God for everything :)

PS: Love the new template? It took me close to two months to complete it. No time ma ;)
